【歌詞大意】 1958年八二三炮戰爆發，戰況激烈，南王村民關懷在前線作戰的家鄉子弟，但無法親自赴前線慰問前線作戰的子弟，也無法回鄉探視親人，老人家十分擔心與牽掛，不知道該怎麼辦，遂在歌中傳達思念與關心之情，要族裏留下來的人，趕快將長大成林木的木材，做成一艘船艦，以便接回在前線作戰的族裏青年，不要再在烽火連天的戰場上，讓老人家擔心害怕。
【General Meaning】This year is a plentiful
year, the local rice paddies are abou to be harvested.We will
sing the good news to our loved ones on the frontlines of Kinmen
and Matsu*.The trees we planted in our home town have already
grown into a forest, the wood is perfect for building boats. We
hope to bring back our brothers on Kinmen and Matsu in the boats
that we have built.
*Kinmen and Matsu are both outlying islands
of Taiwan which are near Mainland China.
